UMM AL QUWAIN: Al Futtaim Motors Toyota created a UAE record for the highest runs in a 25-over at Umm Al Quwain recently.
AFM Toyota scored 495 against Intertec XI match in the First Mascon Corporate Cup organised by Kashmir Cricket Club.
Toyota’s match against Intertec also broke some other records in the history of UAE Cricket.
AFM Toyota openers Saeed Bhutta and Waseem Rana posted a record first wicket record in the UAE scoring 268.
Toyota’s Khurram Shehzad also put his name in the record books by scoring the fastest century in just 22 balls.
The old record for the highest score in a 25-over match stood in the name of Tiger CC who made 423 runs in July 2006 at Ajman. A month earlier to Tiger CC’s record, Eurocon Alubond had scored 403 at Umm Al Quwain.
Bhutta also became the first player to hit a double century this season with an unbeaten 206 from just 66 deliveries.
The first wicket record till date stood in the name of Krishna Prasad and Davis of Solas Marine who put on 236 in the Golden Tower Tournament in Umm Al Quwain. The Solas marine pair had wiped off the record of Rakesh Bhardwaj and Sunil Khatariaof Grand Slam of 218 scored in the 10th Kashmir Cup at Umm Al Quwain.
