Pakistan chief selector Abdul Qadir has resigned from his post following after a daunting defeat to England in the ICC World Twenty20 in England. The Pakistan Cricket Board have accepted the resignation. Muhammad Ilyas - chairman national junior selection committee has been upgraded to Qadir's place for interim period.
"Abdul Qadir today tendered his resignation to the PCB and the chairman of the PCB has accepted the same," PCB said in a statement in a very brief manner.
While no official reason has been given for his departure, some reports speculate it is due to yesterday's defeat while others believe Qadir has fallen out with PCB chairman Ijaz Butt.
